The Ummah is strong in charity, light on empowerment
We give 32x times more in charity than we invest in new companies.
In the Quran, the term Sadaqah is used broadly to mean spending in the way of Allah, encompassing all forms of giving and contribution.
A well-known verse on strength appears in Surah Al-Anfal (verse 60):
And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war, by which you may deter the enemies of Allah and your enemies and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.
While the verse references preparation in a historical context, its underlying message remains timeless — the importance of building strength and readiness, whether through financial capability, education or human development, to serve and uplift the community.
